As shop foreman my responsibilities include: scheduling adequate labor for the upcoming week, managing and maintaining gear, training incoming students on protocol, and proper resource allocation.

To the left is an example of a weekly schedule that I created. I sent a form every week asking about labor needs, and then, based on skill and relation to others, I assigned who would work what shifts. This schedule was sent weekly in an email explaining upcoming week events.

The inventorying software used is called Current RMS. We adapted the program to fit our space. This meant that shop pulls and restores had the added step of scanning each inventoried item to check it in/out. This allowed me to track where items were in case they went missing or broke.

Other things were done as needed, such as creating paperwork tracking the department's separate assignments. If people were not actively assigned to a show they were added to the labor pool for me to distribute. To create an easy-to-understand at-a-glance piece of paperwork, I input everyone's separate assignments so availability was more easily understood.
